Genèse is deeply inspired by the earth, its strata and its memory, evoking a geological cross-section.
Crafted in 18K white gold, this watch is defined by an architecture that highlights each zone of the dial through exceptional techniques: engraving beneath enamel, under-fired enamel, and stone marquetry.
Black jade and blue agate reveal their full richness, with matte, polished, or textured finishes that capture the light.
The engraving beneath enamel creates a multi-faceted effect, suggesting fractures and mineral tensions, while underfired enamel, deliberately and skilfully withheld from firing to preserve the texture of the grain, gives a more raw, organic feel – like a stone whose material has not been “eroded”.
The movement is conceived as an extension of the dial and introduces a new geometric decoration developed specifically for this piece. The work is monumental: between 100 and 150 hours of hand engraving. The engraver stands as if before a blank canvas, working the raw brass entirely by hand.
